Eastern Paradise Review - May 2023 After the usual trip to The George when in Stony, a short walk to the restaurant. Quite busy, giving it a good atmosphere. We had a table at the back, round, which is nice, but a bit cramped for as few as five diners. Service was a bit hit and miss, those in charge were, however, pleased to see us. We do know the staff as we have done the rounds a few times and they have worked in other restaurants previously. The menu is traditional, a couple of very hot dishes if that’s what you after. Overall, fairly average food at a decent price. Methi Master

What We Loved
  • Quite busy early on but as seems normal now, nearly empty by 21:30
  • Big Pops with good dips/chutneys
  • Can get a £19.95 five course banquet on a Friday night
  • Eastern Promise mixed starter to share, ok
  • Aloo chat, well cooked and tasty
  • Lal Maas Rajastani – good cuts of lamb, very hot and excellent
  • All veggie sides were acceptably nice, saag chana, onion bhajee, brinjel bhajee, okra average though
Areas for Improvement
  • No certificate awarded
  • Service was generally good but a few drink spillages here and there
  • Rashmi kebab, omelette a bit bland and salad sparse
  • Chicken Methi very bland and ordinary tasting
  • Tawa Gosht in a skillet, arrived a little later than the rest
  • Cheese and garlic naan poor, a bit tasteless
Common Curry

Average cost in the current climate.
